Solid Hardwood

Solid hardwood is a traditional flooring option. It is made of a single piece of lumber that is usually ¾” thick. Most solid hardwood can be refinished multiple times. Refinishing solid hardwood flooring reduces the appearance of scratches and gouges and can make flooring look new again. Solid hardwood characteristics are difficult to replicate. The knots and grains found in natural hardwood make it visually appealing and unique. Install solid hardwood in dry and relatively cool areas of your home such as bedrooms, living rooms, and home office spaces. Installation options include nail down and tongue and groove. Ask our flooring experts which hardwood option is best for your needs and lifestyle.

Engineered Hardwood

Engineered hardwood is a modern option and is made up of several layers that are pressed together cross-grain which in turn creates stabilization. This construction also minimizes wood’s natural tendency to expand and contract when exposed to humidity. You can install engineered hardwood in many rooms in your home, even in places with high traffic. However, it is still not recommended for rooms with high moisture levels like bathrooms and laundry rooms.
